I’m Geri Schaer! That rhymes! I’m a Swiss-Filipino performing artist, voice actor, children’s entertainer, arts instructor and occasional costume crafter based in Alberta. I’m a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC where I received training in acting, singing, and dancing, and thus built my foundation in pursuing my creative endeavors. Being a multidisciplinary artist, I always strive to use my previous training and experiences to guide me through every new project whether that’s in theatre, voice over, film, physical theatre. I’m very open to collaborate with others to tell meaningful stories! Having taught and entertained hundreds of children over the years, I’m truly in awe of that child-like sense of play and endless curiosity. About Geri Geri Schaer is an Alberta-based actor, voiceover artist, singer + dancer, children’s entertainer and arts instructor. She is a self-proclaimed “Swissapino” being proud of her Swiss and Filipino heritage. Born and raised in Switzerland, Geri always had a fascination with North American arts, media & entertainment, so once her family immigrated to Canada she pursued that creative calling. Geri is a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC. At CCPA, she completed two years of intensive conservatory style training focused in acting, singing, dancing and physical theatre. During the pandemic she was working on diversifying her skills and continuously taking classes/workshops in voice over, video editing, audio engineering, sewing and puppeteering. Performing for Disney Cruise Line for the past 3 years has allowed her to interact with hundreds of families and children, which remains a treasured time in her life where she is able to witness the impact and sparks of joy created by the art of animation and storytelling within these families. Her mixed-race perspective makes her determined to tell relevant stories that can impact the younger generations and underrepresented communities. After all, she believes that art deeply connects and impacts people empathetically, emotionally, and mentally to remind us we are all living the ever complicated universal human experience — no matter where we originate from. Geri is always looking to collaborate and to help create diverse, meaningful storytelling to share in her local community, provincially and across the country.
